All work by Thomas Bland & Gunmakers® Gunmakers Ltd. and Woodcock Hill Inc. will be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. You will not be sending an anniversary card to your gun. A stock bend & to adjust your length of pull normally requires only a few days to complete (in many cases the work is completed overnight) and is on the way back to you.

GUNS STRIPPED & CLEANED

Protect your gun, strip & clean your guns periodically... $65.00 up. Your gun will be cleaned using the latest ultrasonic techniques. You should have your gun stripped and cleaned yearly.

GUN CASE RESTORATION

Woodcock Hill Inc. & Thomas Bland & Sons Gunmakers Ltd. are now accepting gun cases, leg-of-mutton gun cases, gun slips, and cartridge magazines for total and complete restoration by London Trained Craftsmen who are both on staff and come from England as required to assure that all work is done efficiently and properly. All of the work is completed under the direct supervision of Mr. Ian Tomlin, the Director of TEG (Traditional English Guncases) who is acknowledged as the top Case Maker of the world.

CASE COLOUR HARDENING

We are now set up to fully colour harden your shotgun actions, scope rings, rifle actions and related items using a combination of the old world techniques with the latest modern equipment available today. Prices will vary depending upon the amount of preparation which is required and the amount of assembly required. Contact us for you work. (price by the job)

BARREL WORK

CHOKES ADJUSTED   To your measurements (non chrome lined barrels) $55.00 each barrel.

CHOKES ADJUSTED (CHROME LINED BARRELS) Chrome lined chokes opened in 12- & 20 bore $110.00 each barrel.

CHAMBERS LENGTHENED   If you have an old L.C. Smith, Fox or Parker the chambers will be 2 9/16 inch and should be lengthened to 2 ¾ inches to handle modern cartridges to reduce pressures and recoil. $55.00 each barrel.

CHROME LINED FORCING CONES LENGTHENED   12 & 20 Gauges only $100 each barrel.

PROOFING OF GUNS

PROOFING OF GUNS * Many of you have questions concerning the proof of your guns. It is imperative with any gun which you are going to purchase of to shoot that you know the measurements of this gun. The chamber length, the barrel wall thickness, the bore measurements, the chokes, the condition of the barrels both inside and out. The current proof of the gun. Are the barrels proofed for Nitro or Black powder. Any reputable dealer or Gun Maker should have the tools and or knowledge to provide you with this information. If the gun is NOT in Proof or it is Black powder proof it is NOT safe to fire. You may well find yourself suffering serious injury or death as a result of not paying attention to these details.

* All the proofing of shotguns is completed either in Birmingham or London England with Certificate of Proof.

It is certainly very possible and easily done to send your gun to England for Preparation and Nitro Proofing of your guns. The proofing is normally not very costly. The wasted cost is sadly in the shipping of your gun to and from England. There are ways to save but that involves your transportation of the gun one or both ways.

Remember dead is forever and be careful about the proofing of your gun Never purchase a gun which is out of Proof unless the seller is willing to accept the cost of re-proofing or you purchase the gun with the knowledge that it is out of Proof and you receive such a deal that it is worth you having the gun re-proofed.

STOCK WORK

STOCK BENDING A properly fitting gun is of paramount importance. If your gun does not fit correctly you will not be able to shoot it accurately. $155.00 (5 day or less turn around time ). If you come for a Shooting School or a Try-Gun Fit and you stay over night we will have your gun ready in most cases for you to use or take with you the next morning.

PISTOL GRIPS REMOVED We will remove your pistol grip and convert the gun to straight hand then re checker. Price by the job... CALL

SHOTGUN STOCKS REFINISHED Should you require your stock and forend to be refinished, or if you are just tired of a plastic finish and desire a best hand rubbed oil finish, contact us. We will strip and clean all of the old plastic finish from your stock and forend, remove old dents and abrasions then apply a best hand rubbed oil finish. $310.00

RIFLE STOCKS REFINISHED Should you require your stock refinished, or if you are just tired of a plastic finish and desire a best hand rubbed oil finish, contact us. Woodcock Hill Inc. & Thomas Bland & Sons Gunmakers Ltd. now have the staff who are specially trained to make and fit the Best London Style pigskin leather covered recoil pads that are the standard of the world.

WINCHESTER 29 Piece emergency Turn Screw Kit If you ever have been in camp or away from home and despertely needed a turnscrew kit to tighten a scope or repair a rifle or shotgun, this is it. BARRELS SLEEVED* If you have a valuable shotgun which has barrels that are damaged beyond repair it is still possible to send your gun to England, have the old damaged tubes removed and new barrel tubes fitted. This process is called sleeving, the old tubes are completely removed and new tubes fitted and proof tested either at the London or Birmingham Proof House. You are furnished with a Certificate of Proof from the Proof House ensuring the safety of your gun... By the job + shipping.

* Our sleeving is all done in England and complies with English Proof laws. You may rest safely that your gun is in PROOF; furnished with Certificate of Proof from Birmingham or London Proof House.

Should your gun need re-proofing we will make the required arrangements to have your gun shipped to England to be proofed.

In England we will be more than happy to sort you out with everything from the manufacture of new shotguns and rifles to 100% renovations of your current sporting arms.
