The bores both measure .729. The walls are .025 right and .026 left. The action and hardware is beautifully engraved with foliate scrolls and vines. the finish is bright cyanide hardened finish to show the full effects of the engraving. The action also has quick detachable locks and gold lined cocking indicators. The barrels and hardware are best blacked with gold inlay to the top rib and serial number on the trigger guard tang. The very well figured stock of 14 7/8 inch pull and will be adjusted to the length desired – with or without a best quality English leather covered pad. Two Inch Game Guns
For those who are searching for the ultimate in a lightweight game gun, one which may be carried all day without experiencing undue fatigue, the two inch is the way to go. The two inch cartridges which are available in 15/16 ounce loads are very quick and efficient, they are available in 6, 7 ½, 8, and 9 shot. In searching for a two inch chambered gun, never lose sight of the fact that the purpose of the two inch gun is for lightness of weight and speed of handling. The weight of an average English two inch 12 bore gun is in the area of 5 pounds 5 ounces, they run for a double barrel side by side between 5 pounds 1 ounce up to 5 pounds 10 ounces. Anything over 5 pounds 10 ounces and you are probably better off to either go with a 16-bore or a lightweight 2 ½ inch 12-bore game gun.
